Abstract Wave 1, 2005

Bronze Resin 37 x 47 x 34 cm – £1950

Despite being inspired by a wave, this abstract sculpture is not dynamic, but restful and just held in balance: the empty space mostly enclosed by the wave makes space, not volume, the focus of this form.
As this space opens up towards the top, there is a looseness, a readiness for change – not a (fore) closure.

The essence of this form is its central large hole – and challenges the idea of sculpture as volume; this sculpture deal with openness, and the absence of things.
